Our Projects

School-child Empowerment Program

In partnership with NEST4US, a US-based Nonprofit organization, we launched the school-child empowerment program to build the capacity of school-going children to make the right choices in their lives and build leadership skills.

The program is designed to empower young people in school to also understand and embrace social responsibility as leaders of tomorrow. We partner with schools to support in building the capacity of their students to be great leaders through virtual and physical sessions. The topics include career guidance, leadership, personal development, and reproductive health.

Having witnessed the pressing issue of period poverty among school girls during the implementation, we also considered offering some reusable sanitary pads to fight period stigma in schools.
Over 500 students report a bigger impact of this program on their personal lives.

Indigenous Seed Program

Through our collaboration with the Ujamaa Empowerment Network under the Ujamaa Seed Program, we have piloted an indigenous seed multiplication project so far, reaching and training five indigenous seed multiplication groups, comprising women and youth.

The main objective of this program is to promote sustainable and regenerative farming practices that prioritize environmental stewardship, food security, and community resilience. This reduces overdependence on imported hybrid seeds, which are considered expensive and unreliable by smallholder farmers.

The project will increase access to affordable, high-quality, climate-resilient indigenous seed for rural communities. This directly improves household income and nutrition while conserving the environment and ensuring seed sovereignty and biodiversity.

Mental Health Project

In partnership with Cure Brain Disease, we piloted a mental health education project in selected Ugandan Schools in the Teso sub-region, having received a pressing need in various schools after conducting an independent baseline survey.

On May 13th, 2022, New Vision, a leading news company in Uganda, published an article indicating that over 14 million Ugandans are suffering from mental health disorders.

On 16th April 2025, there was another report from New Vision noting that there is a growing concern about mental health challenges among young people aged between 15-24, which constitute about 35% of the country’s population.

Bright Dada Project

With support from Enlight Institute and funding from Signify Foundation, 200 households were reached with a 25% reduction in electricity bills.

village savings and loan associations

Over 40 functional VSLAs with a combined total of 1,200+ members are able to save money weekly and provide affordable loans to their members using a proven and well-structured methodology. Household saving culture has improved by 62%.

1 million youth actions challenge

We partnered with 1MYAC an initiative by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, and planted over 13K trees and still counting.

Our project of restoring the heavily degraded areas in Kumi District, Eastern Uganda was awarded action of the month for October 2021

In 2024, we were excited by the onboarding of the National Forestry Authority of Uganda which first rendered additional support of 3,000 assorted indigenous tree seedlings to elevate our forest restoration efforts in Eastern Uganda. The NFA is always ready to support our eco-restoration efforts.
